How often do you boil water for drinks or foods? If it's more than a few times a day, you deserve a Zojirushi water boiler. A water boiler is an appliance that boils water and keeps it warm. Unlike an electric kettle, its main feature is keeping water warm at various temperatures, so hot water is at the ready whenever you want a cup of tea, instant food, or even for culinary uses.

How do you use a Zojirushi water boiler?
All you do is fill the water tank with water and plug it in! Select the temperature you want. The unit will automatically boil the water, and once it reaches the set temperature, the water boiler will keep water at that temperature for as long as it's plugged in.
-
1. Fill with water and plug in
Fill the water tank with clean water and plug in.
Tip: Don't put the unit in the sink to fill where water might get in from the bottom and cause malfunction.
-
2. Select temperature
Select the keep warm temperature you want.
Tip: Use Quick Temp mode to skip reaching a boil and go directly to the temperature.
-
3. Dispense
Hit unlock, then press dispense for hot water.
Tip: Use Café Drip Dispensing Mode to reduce output speed to 60% for pour over coffee.

How does a Zojirushi water boiler work?
All Zojirushi water boilers are MICOM or micro-computer controlled to make constant adjustments to the heater to maintain water temperature. VE or Vacuum-Electric hybrid models utilize a double-wall stainless steel vacuum sleeve around the water tank to reduce heat loss while keeping warm.
What makes a water boiler unique?
Water boilers are unique in that they're not designed to boil quickly like an electric kettle, but they will keep water hot at the temperature you want. This makes it ideal when brewing tea throughout the day, so you don't have to keep boiling water each time you want a drink. They also make dispensing easy, as there is no lifting to dispense.
-
Stainless Steel Interior
Water tank is made of stainless steel, and most are nonstick coated to aid in the removal of scale buildup.
-
Water Level Gauge
Makes it easy to see how much water is left. If it runs out? Don't worry! The heater will shut off to prevent boil-dry.
-
Electric Dispensing
Dispense hot water at the touch of a button. No lifting or tilting required.
What is the right temperature for brewing tea?
Not all hot water is the same, especially when brewing tea. It's important to brew tea at the right temperature to get the most flavor or aroma, without some of the unwanted elements. See our guide below.
-
Green Tea
160 - 195°F is ideal. Brewing with hot water releases catechins that make the tea bitter and unpleasant.
-
Gyokuro
160°F is best for this high-end green tea to bring out the delicate flavor.
-
Houjicha
208°F is ideal for this amber colored roasted green tea.
-
Matcha
175°F is ideal so this powdered green tea is not scorched.
-
White Tea
195°F is ideal to avoid damaging the leaves of this delicate tea.
-
Oolong Tea
195°F is generally ideal for this tea that is often in-between green and black tea.
-
Black Tea
208 - 212°F is best for brewing this robust tea to bring out all its flavors.
-
Other Than Tealeaves
Follow brewing instructions on package for herbals and other teas.
What other uses are there for a Zojirushi water boiler?
Hot water can be used for so much more than just brewing tea. Think about all the times you use hot water throughout the day, and how convenient it would be to have hot water at the ready without boiling each time.
-
Pour-over Coffee
Whether a French press or a cone, no more waiting for water to boil and then cool to the right temperature.
-
Instant Foods
A press of the REBOIL button will get the water back up to 212°F quickly for instant oats, noodles, soups and more.
-
Blanch or pre-cook vegetables
A hot water bath to peel tomatoes, blanch carrots or pre-cook cauliflower.
-
Warm baby bottle
No need for a specialty appliance, just dispense some hot water into a cup or bowl to warm the bottle.

What comes with my water boiler?
All Zojirushi water boilers come with a removable power cord and mesh filter.
Zojirushi’s Citric Acid Cleaner CD-K03E (sold separately) is recommended to remove scale.
